Clara Hung

Hello! I am a Physics MPhil student in the VISIONLab at the University of Cambridge, advised by Professor Sarah Bohndiek. My research explores shortwave infrared imaging and spectroscopy for non-invasive biomolecular sensing, and I am grateful for support from the Ubiquitous Optical Healthcare Technologies (UbOHT) program, funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).

I received my B.A. in Computer Science, with a minor in Physics, from UC Berkeley and conducted research in lensless imaging in the Computational Imaging Lab, under the guidance of Leyla Kabuli and Professor Laura Waller. Outside of research, I led the UC Berkeley Society of Women Engineers (SWE) in science outreach and mentored younger students in the SEED Scholars Honors Program. In the past, I worked as an intern at Apple with Ben Weil and dabbled in some astronomy at the Academia Sinica Institute for Astronomy & Astrophysics.

Outside of academics, I enjoy baking, running, and investigating new coffee shops! I am a big fan of croissants, sunshine, and exploring grocery stores in new countries. Feel free to reach out at clarahung [at] berkeley [dot] edu.
